TOURIST VISA REQUIREMENTS

There are many tourists of countries that are allowed to visit Costa Rica on a tourist visa. This means, they do not have to physically apply for a visa prior to visiting Costa Rica. However, according to Costa Rican Immigration Law, there are restrictions to the amount of time the person from certain countries, can stay in Costa Rica on their tourist visa. The following is a list of countries along with their time limitations to stay in Costa Rica on a tourist visa.

If you choose to stay in Costa Rica for more than the time that you are allotted, you must leave the country for at least 72 hours and then return to obtain another 30 or 90 days according to your nationality.

90 DAYS - NO NEED FOR VISA

30 DAYS – NO NEED FOR VISA

30 DAYS WITH A CONSULAR VISA

IF YOU ARE NOT A CITIZEN OF THE ABOVE-LISTED COUNTRIES, THEN YOU MUST APPLY FOR A VISA BEFORE YOU CAN ENTER COSTA RICA.
